SECONDARY WATER GUIDELINES
1. Due to water rights associated with culinary and secondary water, where secondary water is available, homeowners are required to pay for, hook up to, and use secondary water for all outside watering. Homeowners must complete a “Secondary Water Application” and pay the Connection, Improvement fees and annual assessment.. Services will be available typically from April 15th to October 15th, depending on weather conditions, and will be billed on an annual basis in accordance with the size of each lot.
2. A curb box or a valve box cannot be set in a driveway or road entry apron. Relocation will be at the owner’s expense.
3. A free inspection must be conducted by the Water Company to insure the connection is in compliance with the Secondary Water Guidelines and Standards. Contact the water company to schedule this inspection.
4. The hours of operation for the secondary water shall be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m. If it is determined that the system is to operate under drought conditions, watering will be done according to address number: odd addresses on odd days and even addresses on even days from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 a.m. Other conditions could bring more severe restrictions in accordance to the Water Company’s rules and regulations.
5. All homeowners will comply with the “Winter and Summer Standards” and will be responsible to winterize their own system. The secondary water will be terminated on October 15th and homeowner will be required to winterize after the turnoff date.
6. In case of emergency, please contact the watermaster at 801-814-6462.
7. Secondary water will be denied to any homeowner who is delinquent on previous annual payments or to homeowners who are disrespectful of these guidelines.
8. Please be aware that secondary water is considered non-drinkable.
9. It is suggested that appropriate filters be in place with sprinkler and/or irrigation lines.
10. Homeowners are responsible to maintain sprinkler systems and to ensure that lines are not watering sidewalks, driveways or streets.
